This weekend we took a day trip to visit Jonathan's Grandparents. Although I have only known them for about 4 years they have completely adopted me as their own and welcomed me to their family. Unfortunately Pops is now in a nursing home at this time but he still has a sweet playful attitude. Here is a picture of Jonathan and Pops from yesterday.
After spending time with Jonathan's Grandparents it made me think about my own. I was so blessed to be able to spend some sort of time with all of my grandparents. And although they may not have always made the best decisions. I am so thankful for the difference they made in my life (and thankful that they gave me my parents).
This is my Dad's dad Richard Wingfield. This was actually the last time I saw him before he passed away. I probably spent the least amount of time with him as we lived in different states. He never failed to provide us with silly saying or funny stories about my dad. ****I don't have any pictures of my dads mother in Texas****
This is my mothers parents on their wedding day. They look so happy. I was so fortunate to be able to spend as much time with them as I did. I have so many wonderful memories spending time with both of them that it brings tears to my eyes. My papa walked me to school ever day of Kindergarten. He broke is shoulder in his 60's because he fell iceskating with my brother and I. This man carried a tiny bible in his front shirt pocket and was constantly evangelizing to anyone he came in contact with. He made the worlds best spaghetti, stew and bread pudding. And I miss him to pieces. They watched my brother and I while my parents worked and really became like second parents to us. I am so thankful to have and to have had all of these wonderful people in my life.
