I've Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconut...Oil...

I'm sure that by now practically everyone has heard of this new coconut oil trend.  I was a skeptic at first, I bought some but didn't really start using it for a while.  If you haven't used it yet don't be afraid.  I use it all the time in cooking and baking.  You can hardly tell its being used in recipes instead of oil/butter.

This morning as I was getting my daily Pinterest fix and I saw a Pin about using coconut oil as a hair mask.    My poor split ends were practically screaming at me to try this.  My hair normally gets really greasy by the end of the day.  So the thought of putting extra grease/oil in it really grossed me out.  But I thought what the heck and went for it.  Despite my husband asking multiple times, "What are you doing?".

Because my hair is so long right now I decided to divide my hair into 2 sections as you can see it super greasy.

The Pin said to use a hair cap, I chose to use the next best thing I had.  A target bag, classy I know. I also used the blow dryer for a few minutes to heat things up.  I kept this on for a total of 35 minutes.

The final result!  Its probably hard to tell from the picture, but it really does feel much healthier.  I will definitely be doing this at least once a month if not more.  I washed my hair twice just to make sure all the oil was out and used a light conditioner.
